2 weeks in 2 backpacks! Come pack with me!!

I get a TON of questions on how I’m able to pack for multiple week trips in two backpacks.

For this 16 day trip to Europe, I packed: 10 tops, 9 bottoms, 2 romper/dresses, 1 pair of sneakers, & 1 pair of sandals. (Plus my laptop, toiletries, socks, bras, underwear, etc.)

Here are my biggest packing tips:

🎒 Use reliable luggage! Two weeks worth of stuff is going to be heavy. Purchase a backpack (or suitcase) that can withhold 25+ pounds without breaking. I’ve had my Osprey 40L backpack for YEARS and it has never let me down.

👗 Make a list / pack early to avoid over packing. Starting early prevents you from forgetting items AND let’s you reconsider packing something you may not really need.

👚 Pack basic pieces that you can mix & match to create more outfits. Staple items will match anything & everything, trendy items won’t.

🧊 Use packing cubes to keep your clothing together & organized. If for some reason your luggage breaks, you’ll be glad your items are in one.

🧻 Roll your clothes. Folding clothes tends to make them bulky (depending on the item & fabric.) Instead, roll your clothes to save some space.

🎒 Situate your luggage upright when packing it to create the most space. Let gravity do its thing and allow you more room!

👟 Pack your shoes at the bottom. Heaviest items, aka shoes, should be placed at the bottom of your luggage because, again, gravity.

✈️ Wear your heaviest/bulkiest items on the plane.

🛍 Leave some extra room for any items you’ll buy on your trip.

🥾 Hike to Castello Brown for the best views over Portofino. The scenery all along the small uphill hike will have you turning around for pics from every angle.

— Her Suitcase Tip: keep walking past the castle until you reach Chiesa Divo Martino. There, you will get stunning views of the crystal clear the Ligurian Sea!!

🛍 Head back down to the town center and do some shopping while enjoying the colorful buildings from every angle.

🚶🏽‍♀️Stroll by the church of Divo Martino on your way to Baia Cannone - a small pebble beach facing the famous picturesque orange building hanging off a cliff.

🚤 Enjoy the views of the town center & the bright blue waters of the Ligurian Sea by boat.

🍹Eat & drink your way through town while enjoying the views, and my personal favorite, people watching!

Known for its colorful harbor, luxury shopping, and crystal clear waters, Portofino, Italy has become a popular summer destination over the years.

Don’t have a lot of vacation time?? That’s okay! Portofino can be easily explored in one day, but many stay for the weekend.

Many celebrities have vacation homes around the area, so keep you eyes peeled - you never know when you’ll run into George Clooney 😉 (true story!)

Unpopular opinion - Can we normalize staying off our phones during vacation?? 😅

The past couple weeks I’ve been MIA due to traveling, and ya know what?? It. Felt. Good.

Putting my phone down & being fully present in every moment is something I’m constantly working on - specifically on trips.

There will be a time to edit and post stories, pictures, & reels, but in the middle of vacation shouldn’t be one of them. Enjoy your surroundings, enjoy the company, & enjoy the life you’re currently living. Insta can hear all about it once you’re home 😉

This picturesque town is known for the luxurious villas, beautiful gardens, & houses one of the best music festivals in Italy.

For me, the breathtaking views of the coast from the top of the cliffs are worth the stop!
